Core Areas

Reading

Developing and strengthening critical skills in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, oral language, vocabulary, and comprehension using a structured reading approach which is supported by the science of reading. Our goal is to provide students with the necessary reading foundation that enables students to effectively tackle complex literature and understand the text with a deeper level of comprehension.

Language 

Building grammatical skills that students are able to speak (articulate) adapting one’s speech within a variety of contexts that are appropriate to a task or situation, effectively demonstrating a command of formal English when writing or speaking, spelling, and constructing written compositions, that students are able to display grammatical and language skills when completing real-world tasks within their vocations and desired careers.  

Science

Exploring the 3 main branches of science (life, physical, and earth) utilizing interactive hands-on instruction that allows students to design and construct experiments that relate to real life. Our goal is to establish a knowledge base of scientific concepts and academic vocabulary that students are prepared for future learning when exposed to more complex sciences.

Math

Learning fundamental mathematical concepts using a straightforward & conceptual understanding approach that builds upon a vertically aligned sequence of skills that is beneficial for real-world and on the job situations.
